Expomedia and Montgomery strengthen their co-operation on IFE brand with the launch of IFE Hungary
| | 27 May 2004 |
Following their successful co-operation on IFE Poland, Expomedia Group and Montgomery International have further strengthened their partnership with the launch of IFE Hungary . IFE Hungary , International Food, Drink and Hospitality Exhibition, will be held from 22 – 24 February 2005 at the newly refurbished Sports Arena in Budapest and has been launched in response to industry demand for a dedicated trade only event, which carries the well respected IFE brand. Using the same successful format as for IFE Poland , Expomedia's local office, CEE BNR, will be responsible for all local sales, marketing and operational activities whilst working closely with Montgomery 's international team.
As Hungary is now a member of the EU, there has never been a better time for global suppliers of food, drink and hospitality products and services to evaluate opportunities in an economy that continues to demonstrate strong economic growth at 3.3%. Changes in the food distribution system over the last five years, including the removal of government control, have opened up the doors to foreign investment, the most obvious impact of which has been the development of state-of-the-art hypermarkets. Greater choice on the high street has led to growing demand for high quality food and drink that accounts in part for the increased proportion of household expenditure, now 25%, spent on these items.
“I am very excited about IFE Hungary ,” comments Matthew Benyon, Managing Director of Montgomery International. “The number of leading industry figures that have urged us to launch the event is unprecedented and quite obviously linked to the huge success we made of IFE Poland ” he concluded.
The Montgomery/CEE BNR partnership can already list the support of a number of key international export groups including the CMA from Germany as well as leading associations headed by the Hungarian Agricultural Marketing Centre (AMC) . Edit Szabo, AMC's Head of Exhibitions, confirms their full involvement, commenting “We have worked closely with Montgomery International at their IFE Poland exhibition and have appreciated the professional manner and dedication to servicing both the needs of exhibitors and visitors. We are convinced a new modern professional food and drink exhibition will be very successful in Hungary " she concluded. Dr Jasmin Sani, Head of Export marketing at CMA Germany gives a similar endorsement saying, "The CMA is pleased to give their support to the new IFE Hungary exhibition. We have had a successful experience at IFE Poland and are pleased to see the exhibition replicated in this new market."
Oliver Strommer, Managing Director of CEE BNR comments, “With the world class facilities provided by the Budapest Sports Arena and the full local support available through the CEE BNR office, we expect IFE Hungary to become the country's leading trade only event and to be at the forefront of Hungarian European integration in this sector.”
